How does SOS Pharmatic® work?
The world's first retail network of smart mini vending machine pharmacies: IoT-inspired, cloud-connected and compliant with EU pharmaceutical distribution directives.
Project background
Within the Arco-Verde project company, our enthusiastic team of developers has been working for years on designing and producing “intelligent” online vending machines to distribute limited-access, high-value products.
These efforts resulted in an intellectual and physical (hardware and software) product, internationally patent pending (PCT), that allows creating, operating and optimizing a retail network of IoT-inspired pharmaceutical, OTC, RX and dietary supplement vending machines, centrally and individually, with high security.
And so the world's first intelligent mini pharmacy system was born: SOS Pharmatic®.
The SOS Pharmatic® project is protected by international trademark, patent and design registration.
What is the innovation?
Patented technology across the whole supply chain
Error-free dispensing
Our patented loading and logistics system rules out incorrect product distribution, which is a legal requirement for selling pharmaceuticals. On any loading error, the machine automatically alerts the control center.
15-minute restocking
The central warehouse pre-prepares per-machine assortments that only need to be delivered and loaded, so full restocking takes less than 15 minutes (returning and reloading 500 products).
Expiry tracking
Medicines are managed by EAN and batch numbers, and the sale of expired products can be blocked in advance.
Secure identification
Through the cloud, the system identifies end-users by ID card, national insurance card or prescription, so only authorized individuals can purchase.
Box-level traceability
Each product's journey is traceable from the manufacturer to the end-user. For registered customers we know who bought what, where and when, so misuse and theft are ruled out.
Flexible assortment
The entire inventory of a machine can be switched from one day to the next, and the system adapts quickly to new products and new markets.

Where does it fit?
The vending machines are versatile and can be used in hospitals, train and bus stations, gas stations, public institutions and small villages that lack pharmacies.
